@blackwheatclub birthday brunch without trending audio 🫶 FINALLY tried the brunch menu after going for their evening plates and of course it didn’t disappoint! I love the atmosphere in Black Wheat Club so much, it’s calm but there’s always a nice level of chatter and I love chatting with the staff there. What we got: BWC spiced sausage morning bun Goats cheese poached eggs Chai latte (best I’ve had in York!!), apparently using Small Batch Coffee Roasters so must check this out! Thornborough Cider Also got a BWC loaf to take away so pleased I can continue the taste heaven of the bread at home! So glad we nabbed a window seat as well! This is the best value Italian restaurant in York The menu was so wide ranging offering a huge array of pizzas, pastas, ravioli, salads, calzones, risottos, steaks, oven baked dishes and more. It was difficult to decide what to get but we were so happy with our choices. After some Tuscan ribs and wings and mushroom arancini so start, enter compulsory cheese pull shot, we got the gnocchi and the best veggie lasagne of my life as I’ve never had one with goats cheese in before and it was to die for. Apart from the gnocchi, all of these dishes are included in their set menu which is £21.95 for 2 courses availability every day apart from after 6.30 on Fridays and Saturdays. Our cocktails were also 241 so all in all a fabulous value meal but still such a high quality. Phenomenal food and luxury dog friendly rooms at @ploughwigglesworth ⛰️🐶 (gifted stay) Tucked in the hills of the Yorkshire Dales, The Plough offers luxury rooms and next level locally sourced food, and a seriously stunning beer garden. Our room was gorgeous with stunning interiors complete with a doggy welcome pack, rainforest shower, Nespresso machine & more. We dined al fresco in the evening sun – the broccoli & goat’s cheese soup was incredible, and mains like Rib Eye Steak and Yorkshire Venison hit the spot. But the lemon posset? Showstopper. We also loved the brownie, plough berry mess & popping candy too 💥 After a great night’s sleep, breakfast felt like ordering from a cafe – and they even had sausage bites for Roxy 🐾 This place is warm, welcoming, and absolutely worth a visit. Make your way to Marcy’s, a 15 minute walk from the Shambles which is already proving to be very busy. I don’t usually like beef burgers but I’ll make an exception for these ones, which apparently are so good because they are dry aged which are harder to come by and intensify the flavour.
