The ultimate dog friendly staycation in the Yorkshire Dales
Tucked away in the hills of the Yorkshire Dales, you can find The Plough at Wrigglesworth, a charming countryside inn recently renovated, offering up next level locally sourced food and luxury hotel rooms.
We were blown away by the bedroom upon check in, with stunning interiors, a luxurious bathroom and a whole doggy welcome pack for Roxy.
We sat in their beautiful large beer garden for dinner to make the most of the evening sun and I leaped at the chance to try their soup of the day, broccoli and goats cheese, two of my favourite foods and not a flavour of soup I’ve had before and it was amazing. For our mains, we went for the Rib Eye Steak as well as the Yorkshire Venison, served with beautiful beef dripping chips and some of the best onion rings I’ve tried. The star of the show had to be the lemon posset pudding however, and what a spectacle it is. We also loved the Baked chocolate brownie and plough berry mess made with whipped yoghurt, and my favourite, popping candy.
To digest our food, we admired the beautiful sunset and had a walk around the tiny little village and some nearby fields. The Plough is in a fabulous location, with iconic Yorkshire Dales sights a matter of miles away and the Lake District less than an hour away too.
The next morning, after an amazing sleep, we tucked into an amazing breakfast, and the choice of options really impressed me, it was like ordering at a cafe. Plus, they had a bowl of sausage bites for Roxy, a lovely touch for the pooches.
Overall, The Plough at Wrigglesworth is a very special place to be, with a lovely, welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff who obviously love working there.
Thank you so much for the invite, we’ll be back! 💓
